Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. is seeking a part-time Stock Associate at our Springfield, IL location. You will assist with receiving, pricing, and stocking merchandise, and support merchandising teams in store layout and inventory control.

The role requires 1-2 years of related experience, the ability to operate a pallet jack, and proficiency with handheld inventory scanners. Flexible schedule with weekends may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming merchandise with efficiency to ensure correct counts
  • Tag, fold, hang, and price merchandise to be put out on the sales floor or in back stock
  • Assist the Merchandising Teams in distributing items to correct the Specialty Shop
  • Organize clothing hangers and size labels
  • Break down cardboard boxes and dispose of them in the trash compactor
  • Operate a pallet jack to move shipments between platforms, storage, and work areas
  • Perform work efficiently and effectively with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate a computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner
  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere by treating others with respect and consideration, while taking pride in being part of a winning team
  • Maintain an orderly appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, leading to a safe work environment
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Scheels cares about the health and safety of our Associates. Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Compensation/Schedule:

Compensation for this position starts at $15.00 per hour. Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 5p.m. and 9p.m., Monday through Friday and 8:30 am to 9:30 pm Saturday, 10a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available a minimum of three weekends a month. Average hours per week is 20 hours.
