Job description

Overview

MTF Biologics processes tissue grafts from human donors for various clinical applications, positively impacting lives worldwide. As a nonprofit organization, we collaborate with medical, scientific, and donation communities to save and heal lives, guided by our principles.

The Process Technician is responsible for aseptically processing human tissues and cellular products for transplant within a regulated environment. This role involves maintaining an ISO-certified cleanroom, working with potentially hazardous biologic waste, and operating independently or in teams during a 24/7 schedule, which may include mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Schedule: Monday Night to Saturday Morning, 11:15 PM to 7:30 AM

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate competency according to the new hire checklist.
  • Understand donor verification and check-in/check-out processes (Edison only).
  • Complete LMS training with over 90% completion rate, gaining technical and tissue product knowledge.
  • Prepare safe, quality tissue while maintaining aseptic techniques.
  • Proficient and certified in specific processes (Edison only); follow Tech Level Guidance for Pennsylvania technicians.
  • Assist with shutdown procedures, including CORE breakdown, loading, and unloading.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and verify sterile supplies before use.
  • Accurately document processing activities on controlled forms.
  • Read timers, clocks, and measurement instruments accurately.
  • Handle sharps and cutting tools safely.
  • Label, measure, and package tissue according to SOPs.
  • Prepare samples for testing as required.
  • Follow work orders and maximize tissue use for transplants.
  • Perform line clearance and quality inspections.
  • Manage biological waste properly, labeling and documenting accordingly.
  • Retrieve tissue and log for traceability.
  • Process tissues in sequence, maintaining aseptic techniques.
  • Store tissue in freezers and document appropriately.
  • Prepare chemicals for processing and cleaning.
  • Sanitize cleanroom and equipment using specified chemicals.
  • Ensure supplies are used FIFO and stocked properly.
  • Conduct quality and safety observations.
  • Complete required training courses on professionalism and communication.
  • Collaborate with support departments as needed.
  • Own professional development and attend training sessions.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to perform measurements, calculations, and ratios accurately.
