Job Description: Process Technician I - Mold Setter

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Process Technician I specializing in Mold Setting within the Prototype or Production Injection Molding Industry.

Shift Times

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (8-hour days) and 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (10-hour days). Must be open to working until 4:30 PM when needed. (Monday – Friday & half day on Saturday)
• 2nd Shift: Flexible start time from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, to 10:30 PM, or 2:30 AM. Varies based on schedule. (Monday – Friday & half day on Saturday)
• 3rd Shift: Flexible start time from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM, to 5:30 AM or 7:30 AM. Varies based on schedule. (Monday – Friday & half day on Saturday)

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

1. Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines to produce thermoplastic parts.
2. Monitor machine operation to ensure parts meet specifications and troubleshoot issues.
3. Inspect products for defects using precision measuring instruments.
4. Complete documentation for first-off and last-off parts.
5. Install, start-up, shut down, and remove molds.
6. Ensure auxiliary equipment is correctly set and maintained.
7. Maintain optimal operating parameters and troubleshoot machine settings.
8. Keep molds clean and follow proper material handling and drying procedures.
9. Perform routine maintenance and observe machine parameters for consistency.
10. Operate hoists for mold handling and preheat molds as required.
11. Install end-of-arm tooling and issue work orders as needed.
12. Optimize processes to reduce scrap and increase throughput.
13. Communicate operational status and issues across shifts.
14. Review and sign off on shift communications, including Quality Alerts.

Equipment and Compensation

Brand of presses includes Cincinnati Milacron, Nissei, Hattians, HTM’s, JSW’s, Toyo, Krauss Maffei, Van Dorn, Ube, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Engle. Tonnage ranges from 50 to 4,000 tons.

Compensation Range:

• Hourly: $30.00 - $45.00
• Time and a Half after 40 hours
• Double Time on Sundays
