Coplas Inc. an affiliate of Tiercon Corp. is an automotive supplier committed to the design, manufacture and assembly of quality exterior trim and assembled systems used as original equipment in the automotive market. Headquartered in Sterling Heights Michigan, Coplas employs approximately 50 employees. Coplas is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as an Entry Level - Process Technician.
Job Summary & Reporting Structure:
- Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Process Technician is responsible for mold changes, regrinding materials, general maintenance, assist supervisor with End of Arm tool, as needed. Any other duties as communicated by supervisor.
- To be familiar with and practice and promote all aspects of the ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality System and Health & Safety policies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mold changes as needed
- Keep and submit accurate records of actual mold change times
- Drive efficiency by minimizing mold change times
- Maintain regrind for all materials
- Remove and replace with new
- Shovel towards end of vacuum
- Assist Supervisor with troubleshooting and adjustments to injection mold equipment including robotics and end of arm tooling
- Change material when needed
- Clean Oil and Water from floor as needed
- General Cleaning of plant as needed
- Assist maintenance technician/electrician with machine maintenance including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair
- Cover Machine Operators breaks as needed
- Monitor and assess processes and/or process conditions to ensure they are in control.
- Verify Process Verification (PV) sheets as needed
- Promote continuous improvement in all areas
- Other duties as assigned
- ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 duties as required
- In conjunction with other departments, participate in identifying and analyzing non-conformances or production/quality problems
Health and Safety
- Work in compliance with either the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and/or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration CFR 29 1910 in coordination with all associated regulations.
A supervisor shall ensure that a worker,
- works in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures as required; and,
- uses or wears the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker's employer requires to be used or worn.
Environmental
- Know and understand the Environmental Policy.
- Know what to do in case of an Emergency - Emergency Evacuation and Spill Response.
- Evacuate the building during when you hear a fire alarm.
- Report all spills to your Supervisor.
- Know the significant environmental aspects of the work activities in your department.
- Ensure that all the requirements associated with the significant environmental aspects in your department are being met - follow all work instructions, signs and notices - if in doubt see your Supervisor or Environmental Management Representative.
Quality
- To be familiar with and practice and promote all aspects of the ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality System and Health & Safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Post-Secondary Education in a related field preferred
- Mechanically inclined
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Computer skills
- First aid, forklift and crane training an asset
- Manufacturing experience
- Automotive experience is an asset
- Injection molding experience is an asset
- 2+ year of Process Technician experience is an asset
