Job summary

A leading automotive technology firm is seeking an Entry-Level Manufacturing Associate in Birmingham, Alabama. You will be responsible for die casting processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting production operations. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Lean manufacturing background & Six Sigma preferred.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and statistical problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Process compliance: casting, die lube, plunger lube ratios, cycle times.
  • Support Die Sets as needed.
  • Inspect finished dies for defects.
  • Operate or tend metal casting.
  • Promote good housekeeping.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process compliance: casting, die lube, plunger lube ratios, cycle times
  • Support Die Sets as needed.
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Operate or tend metal casting.
  • Promotes good housekeeping (5S)
  • Perform other duties as required.

Physical Demands

This position requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats, and jewelry must be removed on the production floor. Daily, for short periods, you could be working around extreme high temperatures (above 900 °F / 270 °C).

Equipment/Tools Used

Some of the equipment and tools used for the job are a computer, copier/printer, and tools required in die casting.

Knowledge

Education: High School Diploma or GED required and a minimum of 1 year experience in a process related field.

Other: Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), lean manufacturing background & Six Sigma preferred, root cause analysis, statistical problem solving & DOE.

Work Experience

Manufacturing, Die Casting preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience.
