Lyons Blow Molding, a division of C.L. Smith, seeks a Manufacturing Process Technician to maintain and improve processes, enhancing machine efficiency and productivity.

The role focuses on process design, equipment maintenance, quality testing, and cost control within a multi-shift manufacturing setting. You will support maintenance programs, participate in new product qualifications, and collaborate with engineering and operations to implement improvements across molding and automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Technical Manager to ensure adherence to the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Assist Plant Engineer with New Product Qualification and maintenance vs. process engineering focus.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Production on new systems and processes to limit non-conforming products.
• Provide input on new jobs and running molds. Track and measure production improvement processes with Plant Engineer.
• Implement continuous improvements in the Machine Shop for mold performance.
• Perform production duties as needed.
• Machine troubleshooting and job change-overs.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineer on machine enclosure project.
• Assist Plant Engineer in daily variable studies and process improvement projects.
• Assist Plant Engineer in production and maintenance management.
• Participate in the maintenance coverage program and plant-wide conveyor analyses.
• Monitor spending, quality, and safety to meet targets. Review KPIs monthly with the LBM team.
• Assist in training Operators and Machine Tenders.

Job Objective

Maintain and develop processes to increase machine efficiencies and improve profits for Lyons Blow Molding. Responsible for providing the overall process design and measures for improvement of manufacturing, thereby increasing productivity and improving manufacturing costs. Duties also include maintaining and repairing process equipment, test materials and products for quality, and monitor production processes for improvement.

Job Description

Assists Plant Engineer as required for New Product Qualification (currently focusing on efforts maintenance vs. process engineering). Collaborates with Maintenance and Production on the implementation of new systems and processes to limit the reoccurrence of non-conforming products. Provide input on new jobs and running in new molds. Track and measure all production improvement processes with Plant Engineer. Implement continuous improvements in the Machine Shop for added mold performance. Displays competency at Process Tech level (completes necessary training to demonstrate capability at that level). Required to perform production duties as needed.
