Job summary

Westlake Chemical in Michigan is seeking a Process Technician to assist with mold samples and document processing parameters, collaborating with the Shift Supervisor to address shop-floor issues. The role supports maintaining production rates and ensures only conforming product is packaged.

You will assist die setters and material handlers, perform machine operations and maintenance as directed, and follow procedures for setup, operation, and shutdown.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new mold samples and create full documentation on processing parameters.
• Meet with Shift Supervisor and other Process Technicians to discuss shop floor issues.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor to ensure part quality, maintain standard production rates, and ensure only qualified product is packaged.
• Assist die setters and material handlers to ensure set-ups are performed properly, safely, and promptly.
• Perform die setter responsibilities and support production activities including mold and mechanical maintenance as directed.
• Follow departmental procedures for setup, operation, and shutdown of jobs.
• Perform special duties or projects as assigned and operate the machine as needed.
• Document process changes per internal procedures and document repairs on work orders for maintenance and tooling as needed.
• Able to act as an interim supervisor.

• Assist die setters and material handlers as assigned to insure that the set-ups being performed are done properly, in a safe manner, as well as a timely manner.
• Perform die setter responsibilities and support production activities to include mold and mechanical maintenance as directed.
• Follow all departmental operational procedures relating to the set-up, operation, and shut down of jobs.
• Perform special duties and or projects as assigned. Operate the machine as needed
• Document any and all process changes per internal procedures.
• Document repairs as need on work orders requests for maintenance and tooling repairs as needed.
• Able to act as an interim supervisor
