Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry‑leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical‑based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical‑based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Support fiber optic cable manufacturing operations through process improvement, troubleshooting, equipment support, and engineering project execution. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do
  • Create weekly engineering reports and assist with daily reject disposition activities.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving support for production operations.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, PMs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Assist with training production personnel on new equipment, products, and processes.
  • Support the transfer of new technologies and manufacturing processes into production.
  • Monitor production performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of CAD, Minitab, or Six Sigma tools is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • 2‑year technical degree in EE, CS, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Work Hours and Schedule
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
  • Off‑shift support as needed.

The range for this position is $59,029.00 - $81,165.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
