Job summary

Klein Tools is hiring a Process Technician for the Mansfield, TX area to manage all aspects of the injection molding process on 2nd shift (1pm–9:30pm). You’ll set up, start up, shut down, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment to ensure part quality and uptime.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of injection molding experience, blue print reading skills, and proficiency with measuring devices and MS Office. Master Molder certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years in injection molding with setup and operation.
• Experience with robots and auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and measure parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of the injection molding process including setup, startup, shutdown, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Direct and monitor the production schedule; perform mold/material changes as dictated by the schedule.
• Create cycle time reductions where possible.
• Troubleshoot processes, tooling, material setting, inspect parts for quality.
• Work with Engineering on molds for samples and new products.
• Verify startup and in-process inspection documents and logs.
• Prepare and set up support equipment before start up.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process, including setup, startup, shutdown, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.

This role will be for 2nd shift, 1pm - 9:30pm.

This role has an hourly range of $31/hr - $36/hr. Job Responsibilities:

• Perform all aspects of the injection molding process to include, set-up, start up and shut down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and work flow.
• Direct and monitor the execution of the production schedule as well as performing mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule.
• Create cycle time reductions where possible.
• Perform process troubleshooting, tooling setting, material setting, part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
• Work with Engineering on current and new molds for alternative material sampling and new product sampling.
• Verify documents, including start up and in process product inspection sheets, process monitoring log, changeover check list.
• Prepare and set up support equipment (i.e. circulators, grinders, thermolator, hot runner controller, material dryer and material loader, etc.) as needed in the production area prior to start up.
• Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant work experience, required.
• Experience setting up and operating injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including robots, is required.
• Experience diagnosing process issues, making minor repairs, controlling quality, and maintaining high levels of uptime on machines.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to read measuring devices, i.e. micrometer, vernier calipers, Acu-Gauge, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
• Master Molder certification preferred
