Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed cleaning of encapsulation change parts using various cleaning solutions.
  • Accurately complete all applicable documentation pertaining to daily tasks.
  • Monitor key change part parameters in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting to investigate alignment, production, and setup issues.
  • Provide data and possible solutions for setup‑related process requests.
  • Act as a team member to build cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage setup schedule to minimize production downtime.
  • Monitor and build a strong safety culture.

About Site

The ~70,000‑square‑foot Manassas facility operates within Catalent’s Consumer Health portfolio, supporting programs from early development through commercial manufacturing and packaging. It is designed for dietary supplement and food‑safety cGMP operations, making it distinct from Catalent’s traditional pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing sites.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Process Technician to join our team. In this role, you will operate production lines, perform equipment setups, and ensure machines meet manufacturer specifications. You will help reduce process variability, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement projects. This position plays a key role in maintaining high‑quality output and efficient production operations.

Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6am‑6:30pm Location: Manassas, VA 100% Onsite

The Role
  • Operate production line to maximize production with high‑quality output.
  • Follow standardized work to perform equipment setups and manage equipment change parts.
  • Understand and follow all cGMP and SOP regulations.
  • Perform detailed cleaning of encapsulation change parts using various cleaning solutions.
  • Accurately complete all applicable documentation pertaining to daily tasks.
  • Monitor key change part parameters in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting to investigate alignment, production, and setup issues.
  • Provide data and possible solutions for setup‑related process requests.
  • Act as a team member to build cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage setup schedule to minimize production downtime.
  • Monitor and build a strong safety culture.
  • Identify hazards and support countermeasure implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
  • Understanding of equipment used in manufacturing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, manufacturing operators, customers, staff, and other personnel.
  • Ability to provide detailed documentation of daily activities.
  • Ability to use calibrated measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Performing setup and alignment tasks on all necessary equipment and machinery, including operation of hand‑held and specialty tools.
  • Transporting tools, carts, and required items to and from appropriate areas while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Working in industrial settings requiring kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, overhead reach, pushing, pulling, and tool use.
  • Positioning equipment for setup, including handling items from 1 to 15 lbs. and larger equipment requiring multiple personnel for lifts over 50 lbs.
  • Operating appropriate work saver equipment safely in a dynamic environment.
  • Wearing required safety gear such as eye protection, lab coats, hair and beard nets, and steel‑toed safety shoes.
  • Following plant safety and hazardous material procedures.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, snow).
Preferred Skills & Background
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of prior experience in a technical manufacturing role focusing on mechanical alignment and changeover skills.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or food manufacturing environments regulated by Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards preferred.
  • Experience in food or nutraceutical manufacturing is a plus.
