American Crystal Sugar Company in Hillsboro, North Dakota is seeking a Process Technician to extract and crystallize sugar from sugar beets. You will operate factory processing equipment, perform pilot lab sampling, and coordinate with supervisors to ensure equipment is set up for target processing rates and quality.

This role includes basic troubleshooting, GMP compliance, and the ability to work rotating day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English to interpret technical literature.

Hourly Wage: $24.71 - $28.88Schedule: 12-hour rotating day and night shiftBenefits: Available on day one - medical, paid dental, 401K match, pension, and more!JOB SUMMARYThe Process Technician extracts and crystallizes sugar from sugar beets. Individuals in this position operate factory processing equipment and mobile equipment, perform pilot lab sampling and analysis, and perform manual labor. Individuals in this position coordinate with supervisors to ensure that production equipment is properly configured and/or set up for desired processing rates and production quality standards. They also perform mechanical inspections and adjustments, including troubleshooting, to maintain optimum operating conditions. Individuals can become proficient in multiple functional areas of the factory through the Process Technician Specialized Training Program.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:General labor including general process support, mobile equipment operation, and cleaning activitiesOperate process equipment using process control systemsPerform basic troubleshooting of mechanical, operational, and electrical issuesIdentify product issues resulting from operational issuesUse hand tools and rigging to accomplish assigned tasksComply with Good Manufacturing Practices and company quality standardsComply with federal, state, company, and factory safety requirementsBe able to work overtime if neededPerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:A High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.Must be able to read, write, and speak English in order to comprehend & interpret technical literature.Must be able to use standard tools.Must have demonstrated ability to use basic computer skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:One year of industrial experienceFamiliarity with computerized process control systemsSCHEDULE:Full time12-hour shiftsRotating days and nightsPHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:Daily activities include standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing (stairs and ladders), and balancing. Individuals are required to lift assorted items up to 50 pounds individually and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, beard and hairnets, and appropriate clothing.
