Process Technician – Entry Level

Process Technician extracts and crystallizes sugar from sugar beets. The role involves operating factory processing equipment, mobile equipment, performing pilot lab sampling and analysis, and manual labor. The technician coordinates with supervisors to ensure equipment is configured for desired processing rates and production quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Extract and crystallize sugar from sugar beets.
• Operate factory processing equipment and mobile equipment.
• Perform pilot lab sampling and analysis.
• Conduct mechanical inspections and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot equipment to maintain optimum operating conditions.
• Assist in training programs to become proficient in multiple functional areas.

Pre‑Hire Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED certificate.
• Read, write, and speak English to comprehend & interpret technical literature.
• Use common tools.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical / Cognitive Requirements

• Stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and balance.
• Lift up to 50 pounds individually and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), beard and hairnets, and appropriate clothing.
• Pass a safety screen evaluating ability to safely execute duties.

Compensation

Hourly rate $23.46 - $36.59 (depending on experience and training). 12‑hour rotating shift schedule; two weeks off per month.
