Wacker operates a chemical plant in Eddyville, IA and is seeking a Process Technician to safely monitor the plant and perform packaging, sampling and light maintenance. The role requires strong adherence to GMP and safety practices, with training and shift work (swing days/nights every two weeks).

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and 1–3 years of relevant experience, good communication, and the ability to troubleshoot processes.

Are you looking for a new challenge? For our location Eddyville we are looking for a(n) Process Technician.

The Process Technician is responsible for safely monitoring the plant in the field and for all manual operations like packaging, sampling, minor maintenance, etc.

Job Responsibilities

• Exhibit safe work practices in the monitoring of plant equipment, according to existing plans. In-process sampling, reporting unusual events, noises & vibrations to Shift Supervisor. Key duty is housekeeping in the production areas, understanding the plant policies for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and all food-grade plant requirements must be maintained.
• Packaging of finished goods by use of the packaging equipment
• Perform all manual operations in the production process like enzyme dosage, supply and removal of drums at the solvent distillation etc.
• Sampling of process fluids and solvents for in-process control
• Minor maintenance of plant equipment like lubrication, greasing, minor mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Receive deliverables such as starch, solvents and caustic by truck. Packaging of finished goods. Monitoring the outside parts of the plant and reporting any findings to Shift Supervisor.
• Respond to emergencies. Maintain all online and in-plant training requirements.

Qualifications Required

• High School Diploma is required. (Preferred Education, Fields of Study, Certifications: Mechanics, Electronics, and/or Chemical studies.)
• Minimum 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
• Good communication and verbal interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot systems and processes.
• Make Plant Safety a priority.

Pay Rate

Process Technician I starting rate is $26.75. After completion of training checklist, eligible for a $1 increase after the first 6 months.

*Starting pay and job level (Process Tech II/III) may vary based on relevant chemical experience*

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Exposure to chemicals and other hazards, with requirements for training and proper PPE.
• Will be required to lift 55 lbs., related to our finished packaging.

This position is a swing shift alternating days and nights every 2 weeks.
