Job summary

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Process Surveillance professional to join our team in Kinston, NC. You will perform surveillance of shop floor processes to ensure compliance to requirements and act as SME for technical processes and quality management systems.

The role requires data analysis, reporting, and participation in SQCDP cadence, collaborating with operators, regulators and suppliers to drive root cause analyses and corrective actions. Eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, quality, engineering or related role.
  • Proficiency in technical writing.
  • 5% domestic/international travel.
  • Proficient in practical problem solving.
  • Strong ability to work in a multifunction team.
  • Autonomous and rigorous with a focus on product safety and personal integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred experience in aerospace manufacturing and quality and familiar with the associated standards.
  • Competence in conducting operational surveillance or quality audits, including process and product.
  • Facilitation skills especially as related to problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Perform operational surveillance of people, technical processes, quality management system processes and products.
  • Assess individual’s qualification for technical processes or for authority to inspect.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the line teams for technical processes and quality management system processes.
  • Participate in daily SQCDP cadence and performance reviews.
  • Analyze data and generate reports to convey top issues and brief the results to the shop floor and leadership teams using the SQCDP review system.
  • Ensure regular communication with operators and structured reporting to the manager on ongoing issues.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and analysis to ensure process execution conforms to requirements.
  • Support root cause analyses and evaluate corrective action implementation to ensure nonconformance issues will be effectively mitigated.
  • Interfaces with employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to assure compliance with requirements.

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Process Surveillance to join our our team based in Kinston, NC. You will be part of a team performing surveillance of shop floor processes to ensure consistent and effective compliance to requirements.

Your Working Environment

The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

Your Challenges

Physical Requirements
  • Onsite: 100 %
  • Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: Daily able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: Weekly able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: Weekly able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: Weekly able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: Weekly able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Travel: 5% able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (including routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk extensively through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required
  • Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/ Masks, Bump Caps and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
  • PPE Required: Safety glasses, bump caps and safety-toed shoes must be worn when on the manufacturing floor.
