Job summary

American Sugar Refining is seeking a Process Supervisor to direct all activities of the cane sugar refining process, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient use of energy and materials. The role requires overseeing receipt of liquids and maintaining production rates while meeting standards.

You'll lead teams in a unionized environment, drive operational excellence, and supervise union hourly employees with strong communication and training skills.

OVERVIEW

The Process Supervisor will direct all activities of the entire refining process of cane sugar including the receipt of liquid materials, ensuring quality standards are met through the efficient use of energy (fuel and steam), water, air, and electric power.

• Maintains standard production rates while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards

WORK EXPERIENCES

• Five years of experience in a chemical processing, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plant as a process/production supervisor or related experience.
• Experience with and demonstrated success in leading operational excellence/continuous improvement efforts.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred in an engineering, science, or business related field.
• Concentration in chemical engineering, physics, or related science field is preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

• Responsible for the supervision of union hourly employees
• Quantifiable leadership skills
• Ability to train others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook
