Job summary

BD in Sandy, UT is seeking a Process Specialist to operate and maintain high-speed medical device manufacturing equipment, ensuring efficient production and product quality. You will participate in changeovers, monitor processes, respond to faults, and maintain GDP-compliant records.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent experience, with emphasis on safety, GMP, and teamwork, on the 2nd shift (2:45 PM–1:00 AM, Mon–Thu).

Qualifications

• EH&S and safety awareness required.
• Basic computer knowledge for documentation and monitoring.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and GDP.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Familiarity with GMP and quality systems.

Job Description

As a Process Specialist , you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machines/equipment used in the production of medical devices. Your primary role will be to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the equipment to meet production targets and maintain product quality. Participates in all team meetings, activities, team building initiatives, and operational excellence activities.

Schedule: Afternoon shift (2nd shift) 2:45 PM-1:00 AM Monday-Thursday

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Certify to operate multiple processes or grouping of equipment on high speed automated or semiautomated manufacturing equipment.

• Participate in all equipment changeovers or set-ups.

• Monitor assigned processes to ensure high quality production.

• Respond to machine faults and restore to normal operation

• Participate in autonomous maintenance to maintain assigned equipment/area

• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality is required per the BD attendance policy

• Maintain equipment and a clean area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down equipment.

• Maintains an open line of communication to ensure all problems/changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner

• Maintains accurate records as required following good documentation practices (GDP)

• Participate in root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues as needed

• Participate in tier 1 shifts' startup meetings, 5S, and Kaizen events

• Follow all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous waste regulations

• Follow all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

• Support and maintain a safe working environment including the submission of employee safety observations (ESO)

• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to get along with people and work in a team environment

• Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities as needed

• Ability to train other associates as needed

• Ability to identify production issues and clearly communication to support functions

• Willing to work overtime as needed

Required: High School Diploma or relevant equivalent experience, or 1-year relevant work experience.
