Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in Process Safety Engineering is highly preferred.
  • First-Aid and CPR/AED Certification preferred.
  • Experience implementing Safety Programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to provide a safe workplace through training, inspections, and audits.
  • Manage continuous improvement of Process Safety Management.
  • Train site personnel in PSM-related duties.

The Process Safety Manager will lead the effort to provide a safe workplace for all employees through training, inspections, audits, job safety analysis and compliance with all standards related to regulatory bodies. This individual will assure compliance with the OSHA standard that requires identifying, evaluating, and controlling the hazards associated with hazardous chemicals used in our production processes. This individual is also responsible for driving process improvements through statistical analysis of injury data to identify and address the root cause of employee injuries. This position will spend extended time in production and warehouse areas providing support to management, supervisors and employees to promote safety initiatives.

Process Safety Manager

What Will You Do?

The Process Safety Manager will lead the effort to provide a safe workplace for all employees through training, inspections, audits, job safety analysis and compliance with all standards related to regulatory bodies. This individual will assure compliance with the OSHA standard that requires identifying, evaluating, and controlling the hazards associated with hazardous chemicals used in our production processes. This individual is also responsible for driving process improvements through statistical analysis of injury data to identify and address the root cause of employee injuries. This position will spend extended time in production and warehouse areas providing support to management, supervisors and employees to promote safety initiatives.

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience, Required
  • 5 years’ experience in Process Safety Engineering, Highly Preferred
  • First-Aid Certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days
  • CPR/AED Certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days Certification in safety as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations, State workers compensation laws, Required
  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local laws/regulations/requirements related to Health, Safety and Security
  • Experience with accident investigation, safety audit programs for manufacturing Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Tools, national incident management system (NIMS) or emergency management systems and document management system
  • Experience implementing, leading, and sustaining Safety Programs

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management (PSM) / Risk Management Plan (RMP), improving interdepartmental communication and collaboration
  • Support the adoption, implementation, and assurance of the PSM/RMP elements across the business to ensure company best practices and procedures are understood, implemented, and followed
  • Monitor State regulatory changes
  • Provide evaluations and progress reports of ongoing programs to management as required
  • Manage the emergency response activities
  • Monitor and ensure record keeping and required reporting is met for PSM and RMP along with other similar regulatory activities for company and contractors
  • Train and strengthen site personnel in their PSM related duties
  • Coordinate required PSM/RMP compliance audits for the Site
