Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Starbase, Texas, is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to establish safety parameters across advanced manufacturing and launch vehicle technologies. You will serve as the SME for process safety and collaborate with EHS teams to ensure compliant, safe production and testing.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, SIS/SIL design, PFMEAs, GSE safety analysis, and leading safety reviews for high-pressure systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields.
• 1+ years in manufacturing, quality and/or design engineering (student projects or internship qualifies).
• Preferred: Master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace/materials/electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of quality tools and process safety methods is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Establish safety tools and procedures for production process planning and optimization.
• Perform risk assessments on complex machinery; design SIS/SIL and review safety code.
• Serve as the department's Laser Safety Officer (LSO).
• Conduct PFMEAs to uphold safe manufacturing processes.
• Analyze tooling and GSE for safety and load factors.
• Provide safety design guidance on high pressure systems and attend test readiness reviews.
