Job Title: Process Safety Engineer - Facility Siting

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer - Facility Siting with 5-10 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API RP 752, 753, and 756 implementations, as well as experience in quantitative risk assessment (QRA) interpretation. This role is responsible for evaluating and managing facility siting risks to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform building siting evaluations in accordance with API RP 752, 753, and 756 to assess and mitigate risks related to occupied buildings.
  • Develop and implement building management procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a facility-wide building register that includes all permanent structures, portable buildings, and temporary shelters (e.g., tents).
  • Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) to verify that all design and installation requirements are met before buildings are occupied.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and develop corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including process safety engineers and operations personnel, to ensure risk mitigation strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Analyze and interpret QRA results to support decision-making related to facility siting and building management.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure continuous improvement in facility siting processes.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility siting, process safety, or risk assessment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with API RP 752, 753, and 756 implementation.
  • Understanding of Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) methodologies and the ability to interpret results for facility siting evaluations.
  • Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) regulations and best practices.
