Job summary

Macha PSM is seeking an engineer to support refrigeration engineering and process safety consulting projects. Training provided through in-house/on-the-job, university trainings, and RETA CARO certification preparation.

The role involves P&ID development, relief vent analyses, PHAs, and site visits with 10-25% travel to facilities, contributing to team training and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering; chemical or mechanical preferred.
• Proficiency with 2D CAD drawing.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop P&ID drawings and perform relief vent analyses.
• Conduct PHAs and mechanical integrity audits.
• Gather process safety information and perform refrigeration load calculations.
• Lead site assessments and travel 10-25% to facilities.

Job description

Macha PSM started in 2023 and is the fastest-growing process safety management firm in the US. The company is looking to hire our next engineer to assist with refrigeration engineering and process safety consulting projects. All training will be provided in various forms: in-house/on-the-job training, onsite and online trainings at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and self-study training to obtain a RETA CARO certificate (Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association, Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator). We would love to have you join our lean and mean team!

Responsibilities

Complete various engineering projects: P&ID development, relief vent analyses, PHAs, mechanical integrity audits, gathering process safety information, refrigeration load calculations, material and energy balances, depicting site maps, machinery room ventilation assessments, etc.

Drive and/or fly to facilities to perform these activities (est. 10-25% travel)

Assist in training other staff members and contribute toward training resources

Qualifications

BS in engineering (chemical and mechanical preferred, but other disciplines will be considered)

AutoDesk CAD: proficiency with 2D drawing

Microsoft Office: proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Google Workspace: proficiency with Gmail, Drive, and Calendar a plus
