Job summary

Ember Grey in Arkansas seeks an experienced Process Safety Engineer to lead the facility’s PSM and RMP programs, driving hazard identification, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance in a high-hazard chemical environment.

You will facilitate PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, and MOC studies, oversee investigations, and develop robust process safety procedures and training. This onsite role offers growth and direct impact on safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Safety Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, fertilizer, LNG, or similar high-hazard environment.
• Strong knowledge of PSM and RMP requirements.
• Experience with PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, and incident investigation.
• Strong understanding of federal and state process safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Ability to assess risk and develop practical process safety improvements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and regulatory deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement the site’s PSM and RMP programs.
• Facilitate PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, and other process safety studies.
• Provide oversight of the MOC process.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident/near-miss investigations.
• Identify process hazards, assess risk, and develop corrective and preventative measures.
• Conduct and support PSM/RMP audits and regulatory compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain process safety procedures, training materials, and documentation.
• Ensure PHA recommendations and process safety actions are properly tracked and closed.
• Support EH&S permitting, regulatory reporting, and interaction with external regulatory organizations.
• Support process safety training and ensure Operations personnel maintain appropriate training.
• Review and improve process safety standards, procedures, and risk management practices.

Seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to support a leading chemical manufacturing organization based in Arkansas. This is a site-based role focused on leading the facility’s Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs, improving process safety performance, and ensuring regulatory compliance across a high-hazard manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Experience with PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, and incident investigation

Preferred Experience

• Experience with PHAWorks, OESuites, or similar process safety software
• Experience supporting OSHA PSM and EPA RMP programs
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or other highly hazardous process industries
• Experience with process safety audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections
• Experience developing and delivering process safety training
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) certification or relevant process safety certification
