Process Quality Engineer
Enhance customer satisfaction through managing customer complaints. Assist internal QE department inspection resources in the accuracy of defect detection and Engineering in the correction/improvement of products and processes. Supervise development, implementation and verification of product and processes related to internal and external quality requirements. Work in conjunction with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to drive continuous improvement and ensure quality objectives are met. Ensure product/process conformity to internal, customer and third party regulatory requirements. Actively work as part of a highly integrated product line team.
Essential Functions
- Yield improvement: Participate in the improvement of the manufacturing process for existing products. Conduct studies to stabilize, validate or improve product and process capabilities. Perform capability studies to identify problems, provide solutions and/or recommendations for improvement, and implementing corrective/preventive actions. Analyze defective product and/or processes to determine root cause of defect and provide input on corrective/preventive actions to prevent future failures. Implement solutions to improve yield.
- Customer spec reviews & review of internal change requests: Perform internal and external audits on product/processes to ensure compliance to specifications. Review and approve work instructions, inspection documents, change notifications, quality alerts etc.
- Customer Collaboration, data reporting, and corrective action handling: Interact with manufacturing, suppliers and customers to drive improvement activities and ensure product and processes meet or exceed customer expectations. Lead quality and customer complaint root cause investigations utilizing 8D methodology for resolution of quality issues and eliminating problems from re‑occurrence.
- Product qualification & implementation projects: Support Engineering for qualification of new product, processes and/or equipment through collection and data analysis. Support implementation of IATF 16949 quality systems standard.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with ISO-9001 & IATF-16949 quality systems standards
- 1+ years’ experience working in manufacturing
- Working knowledge of statistical software such as Minitab, Infinity, JMP, or equivalent systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.)
- Working knowledge of TQ tools such as Brainstorming, Flowcharting, Ishikawa Diagram Analysis and Affinity Diagrams
- Demonstrated knowledge of SPC, DOE, ANOVA, f & t-test analyses, and GR&R
- Fully versed in process capability studies
Required Skills and Abilities
- Able to identify process shortcomings through data analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
- Ability to provide product characteristic studies and provide Cp/Cpk reports on KPC's, KcCC's
Preferred Education and Experience
- Certified Quality Engineer
- Six Sigma training and experience
- Knowledgeable in FMEA and Control Plan generation
- Training background
- Quality system auditing in ISO, QS and/or Malcolm Baldridge

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
