Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, process engineering or related field.
• 5–10+ years in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial project management.
• Experience with capital projects from feasibility through startup.
• PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate processes to identify safety, reliability, capacity, quality, and cost improvements.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and equipment specs.
• Lead capital projects up to $1M from concept to startup; manage budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering firms, contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Support commissioning, startup and performance testing of new equipment and systems.

Here’s a Glimpse Into Your Day To Day

Process Engineering

• Evaluate existing manufacturing and chemical processes to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, reliability, capacity, quality, and cost.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), mass balances, and equipment specifications.
• Perform process calculations, equipment sizing, and utility demand assessments.
• Support process hazard analyses (PHA), management of change (MOC), and process safety initiatives.
• Analyze operating data and troubleshoot production, utility, and environmental systems.
• Develop technical scopes of work for engineering consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Support commissioning, startup, and performance testing of new equipment and process systems.

Project Engineering

• Lead capital projects (up to $1MM, small Capital / Maintenance) from conceptual design through construction and startup.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
• Coordinate engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage procurement activities including RFQs, bid evaluations, technical reviews, and equipment selection.
• Track project progress, budgets, risks, and key performance indicators.
• Conduct project meetings and provide executive-level status updates.
• Ensure project deliverables meet technical, financial, and operational objectives.
• Manage change orders, cost forecasts, and project closeout activities.

Asset & Utility Infrastructure

• Support utility upgrades including electrical service improvements, water systems, chemical handling systems, pumping systems, and storage facilities.
• Coordinate with utility providers, regulatory agencies, and permitting authorities.
• Review civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation designs for constructability and operational effectiveness.
• Support facility expansion, modernization, and process optimization initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, NFPA, environmental, and company standards.
• Participate in safety reviews, incident investigations, and corrective action programs.
• Support environmental permitting and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Promote safe work practices throughout project execution and facility operations.

You’ll Be a Perfect Fit If You Have

• Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 5-10+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial project management.
• Experience managing capital projects ranging from feasibility through startup.
• Experience within chemical processing, water treatment, industrial manufacturing, utilities, or related industries preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with engineering consultants and construction contractors.
• PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt are desirable

Compensation And Benefits

• Pay: $120,000-140,000 Annually (depending on experience)
• Eligible for overtime pay
• Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
