Job summary

Sterling Multi-Chem seeks an Engineer II to support safe, reliable plant operations in Houston. The role applies chemical and mechanical engineering principles to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize processes, with leadership in continuous improvement across multiple process areas.

The candidate will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Quality, and other technical teams, driving improvements in safety, reliability, quality, productivity, and overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing, specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, or similar industrial environment.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or plant operations is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support for assigned plant process areas.
• Monitor process performance against KPIs and targets.
• Troubleshoot complex operating issues and implement corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
• Develop and manage capital projects, including AFE approvals and cost estimates.
• Support MOC, process safety, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Quality, and other teams.
