Valero Energy is seeking a Process Operator at the Albert City Ethanol Plant to oversee a segment of the production process on a 12-hour rotating shift. The role requires safe operation, quality monitoring, and collaboration across departments.

Starting wage is $27.75 per hour with a $2 per hour night shift differential and a $4,000 sign-on bonus. This nonexempt hourly position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• On-site, in-person at the Valero Albert City Ethanol Plant required.
• Preferred: Associate Degree in Process Technology or equivalent.
• Experience in the operation of a dry-mill ethanol plant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant operations.
• Review plant operation to monitor production and quality, anticipate and solve problems.
• Participate in projects to improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
• Document and monitor process variables, sample data and routine tasks.
• Participate in QA/QC program, interpret results and take action as required.
• Communicate with all departments to ensure safe and efficient daily activities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot process issues and equipment.
• Perform scheduled Operations Work Requests as directed by Supervisor or Plant Management.
• Prepare equipment to ensure safety for maintenance/contractors.
• Utilize safe work practices to ensure all work is performed safely.
• Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Monitor use and inventory of process chemicals and supplies.
