Job summary

Lesaffre Group in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Process Operator to ensure high-quality yeast production. You will follow established procedures, operate fermentation equipment, perform sanitation tasks, and maintain accurate records.

The role requires safety-first mindset, ability to work rotating day shifts 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, and willingness to train in multiple plant areas to meet production needs.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

As a Process Operator, you'll ensure production of a quality yeast product by following established procedures and performing various sanitation duties. This requires a wide range of knowledge and skills, many of which can be learned on the job. This position reports directly to the Process Supervisor. May also receive direction from the CY/NUT Supervisor or other department management personnel as required. This role follows a rotating day shift schedule from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

What you’ll do as a Nutritional Operator:

• Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre's safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols andparticipatingin required safety programs


• Follow established fermentation procedures, make adjustmentstothe processes or processing equipment, manually or through a central processing computer.


• Notify Supervisor of equipment failures and when major fermentation problems or variations in the process are detected.


• Follow the productionschedule.


• Follow established cleaning (CIP) and syrup/raw materials procedures.


• Responsible for reading and understanding material safety data for chemicals used inthe fermentationprocess.


• Follow all procedures/precautions when adding chemicals tothe fermentationprocess and working around chemicals.


• Run the separation of the yeast afterfermentation.


• Learn tocomply withall established safety, GMP, and food safety rules of the plant as well as general company policies.


• Verify accuracy of all information.


• Record andmaintainaccuratewritten and electronic information for fermentation, separation,CIPs, or any other documents required by company to regulate parameters, procedures and equipment through basic laboratory analysis, simplecalculationsand computer controls.


• Communicate and interact with other employees, customers, and management personnel in a respectful and effective manner.


• Follow syrup/molasses processes from start to end to minimize loss.


• Train and work in other departments in the facility as needed. This may include truck-loading, packaging, cleaning for customer audits, and filling in for various absences throughout the facility. Work is assigned depending upon operational needs.

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or 3 years of experience in a similar position
