Job Description: Field Operator (Outside Operations)

Location: Miami, FL

Reports To: Operations Supervisor

Responsibilities

Our Firm are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Field Operator to join our clients operations team in Miami, FL. The Field Operator will perform routine operations, monitor LNG systems, and ensure the safe and efficient loading, offloading, and oversight of equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong situational awareness, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to dynamic operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations & Shift Activities
  • Conduct daily operator rounds, logging equipment status, performance, and abnormalities using the Versify Log System.
  • Participate in shift handovers, communicating critical information, and attend daily Safety and Plant Status Briefings.
  • Complete Outside Operator Round Sheets, investigating and resolving any abnormal conditions identified.
  • Physically inspect all required areas and equipment at least every three hours.
  • Load and unload ISO containers and railcars, completing the LNG Truck Loading Checklist and associated documentation.
  • Verify safe grounding and proper functioning of the Scully system prior to loading operations.
  • Inspect hoses, valves, gaskets, and connection points for leaks or wear to ensure operational integrity.
  • Equipment Oversight & Maintenance Support
  • Monitor pressures, temperatures, oil levels, and equipment conditions for pumps, valves, storage tanks, and instrumentation.
  • Respond to alarms and operational upsets as directed by the Control Room Operator.
  • Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to safely prepare equipment for maintenance.
  • Identify and document equipment deficiencies, initiating maintenance work orders for resolution.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Strictly adhere to operational procedures and safety policies.
  • Promptly report any environmental, safety, or equipment concerns to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring walkways and equipment areas remain clear and clean.
  • Additional Duties
  • Drain sumps, knockout drums, and dike areas as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), particularly during high-risk activities such as loading and startup.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and support other operational activities as directed.
  • Follow all verbal or written instructions from management, escalating conflicts or challenges through the Shift Supervisor for resolution.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in LNG, petrochemical, or similar industrial field operations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of process systems, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The role involves physical activities, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Work is performed in an industrial outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather and process conditions.
