Job summary

M2X Energy in Odessa, TX is seeking a Process Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain biogas-to-methanol production systems. You will serve as the primary on-site contact, coordinate with engineers, and ensure safe, high-uptime operations in a field-focused environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in industrial equipment operation, strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with HMI and data logging, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology.
• 2+ years operating or maintaining industrial or lab equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting and familiarity with sensors/controls.
• Experience with HMI systems and data analysis basics.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors/industrial sites.

Responsibilities

• Maximize equipment uptime through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
• Provide daily reports on operating status, findings, and issues.
• Operate industrial systems and manage methanol storage for off-take partners.
• Read operating procedures and provide comments.
• Collect data and verify equipment performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Assist engineers with SAT and system commissioning.
• Maintain test records, calibration certificates, and logs.
• Support installation and removal of test equipment at field sites.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized equipment support.
• Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.

Job description

Role:
The Process Operator will operate, monitor, and maintain M2X’s biogas to methanol production systems. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for the operating facility, acting as the liaison between M2X and external stakeholders. This position will support engineering development, site acceptance testing (SAT), and field commissioning of modular, mobile biofuel plants. The operator will work closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing Teams to ensure accurate data collection, safe operations, and high equipment uptime. A strong candidate will have hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, familiarity with instrumentation and data acquisition, and the ability to work in a fast-moving, field-oriented environment.

Specific responsibilities may include:

• Maximize equipment uptime through proactive monitoring and maintenance

Qualifications:

• Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent applied training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology
• 2+ years of experienceoperatingor maintaining industrial or laboratory test equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools and diagnostic instruments
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with sensors and control systems
• Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) system operations
• Proficiencywith Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and basic data analysis
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures
• Ability to lift 50lbs.and work in outdoor or industrial environments as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in industrial testing, process operations, or field service
• Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, or other industrial control system
• Experience with biofuel, chemical, or renewable energy process equipment
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and hazardous-materials handling
• Track recordof effective collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

$33-$44/hour (based on experience)
