Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation in Wickliffe, OH is seeking a Process Modeling Engineer to advance our chemical manufacturing modeling capabilities. You will develop both physics-based and data-driven models, perform simulations, and collaborate with R&D, operations, and process engineering to scale pilot data to full production.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Modeling, Computational Methods, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering, process modeling, or advanced analytics in chemical/manufacturing settings.
• Strong experience with process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD, gPROMS).
• Experience building data-driven models with Python, MATLAB, JMP, or ML platforms.
• Solid background in transport phenomena, thermodynamics, kinetics, and unit operations.
• Proficient in data analysis, statistics, and visualization.
• Experience with dynamic modeling, digital twins, or real-time optimization is a plus.
• Ability to translate lab/pilot data to full-scale models; strong communication & leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Modeling & execution: build/validate physics-based models and data-driven models; run simulations.
• Develop standards, docs, and validation protocols for modeling assets.
• Design training programs and mentor staff on modeling tools and methods.
• Lead strategy for modeling capabilities, tool selection, and tech roadmap.
• Collaborate across manufacturing, quality, R&D, and supply chain; present findings to leadership.
