Job summary

Allan Myers, Inc. seeks a motivated laborer to join our field team in the Mid-Atlantic. You will perform heavy physical duties on unskilled or semi-skilled tasks, learn from an experienced crew, and contribute to safe, on-time project completions.

You may install interior piping, set large equipment, drill concrete, rig material, erect scaffolding, and handle tools with care, with opportunities to advance into leadership as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience on construction sites.
• GED/High School diploma or related work experience.
• Trade School a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Install interior piping and related materials (ductile iron, PVC, copper, stainless).
• Set/install large process equipment and assist on site.
• Lead crew of 3-5 people, explain and direct work.
• Rigging and material handling with cranes or handlers.
• Follow layout and instructions from Field Manager.
• Maintain site safety and housekeeping.
• Concrete drilling, demolition, cutting, and tool use.

Education

GED/High School diploma or related work experience

Valid Driver’s License

Trade School a plus

This position requires heavy physical duties on a variety of tasks which are generally either unskilled or semi-skilled in nature. Duties will vary depending on the type of work assigned to crew.

• Install interior piping - flanged ductile iron, PVC glue-joint, copper and stainless steel press-fit.
• Setting/Installing large process equipment.
• Concrete hammer drilling for anchor installations.
• Rigging and large/heavy material movement using material handlers and cranes.
• Complete installations using layout and instructions provided by Field Manager.
• Scaffold erection, manlift operation, working at heights and within fall protection.
• Concrete demolition using air and electric tools.
• Metal and pipe cutting using abrasive blades on grinders, portabands, etc.
• Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, and supplies.
• Cleans tools, materials, and work areas.
• Lead crew of (3-5) people, explain/direct work.
• Construction Safety.
