Star Staffing is seeking a on-site Production Process Engineer to join a growing wood products operation in Benicia, CA. You will partner with leadership to turn ideas into repeatable, efficient processes, improving quality, throughput, safety, and overall operations.

The role emphasizes creating and updating SOPs, leading root cause investigations, supporting CNC and woodworking equipment, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing, process engineering, industrial engineering, or a similar technical capacity.
• Proven experience building SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand equipment manuals.
• Clear communicator with a practical, hands‑on mindset.

Responsibilities

• Elevate manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, quality, and throughput across the shop.
• Create, update, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and workmanship standards.
• Diagnose production and equipment issues; lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Support CNC machinery and woodworking equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, and lead new equipment installs.
• Streamline material flow, packaging standards, and inventory methods for smoother operations.
• Champion workplace safety, OSHA compliance, chemical safety, and environmental reporting.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and train production teams on new or optimized processes.

Step onto the production floor of a growing, hands‑on wood products operation where custom store fixtures and precision craftsmanship meet modern manufacturing. You’ll partner closely with the Director of Operations and production teams to turn ideas into repeatable, efficient processes—solving problems in real time and leaving a visible mark on quality, throughput, safety, and overall operations.

Work environment
