Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Tek and Kote seeks a Process Manager to lead a ~20-strong operations team at its New Carlisle, IN site. The role drives safety compliance, coaching, and continuous improvement within a 24/7 steel production facility.

The candidate will coordinate cross-functional tasks, monitor performance metrics, and collaborate with maintenance and union teams to sustain reliable operations. An engineering or related degree and manufacturing leadership are required.

• Facilitates team meetings and communicates on safety, environmental, quality, budget, and training topics.
• Identifies development needs (training, quality systems) and implements activities.

Location: New Carlisle, IN

As a Process Manager at Cleveland-Cliffs Tek and Kote, you are a Team Leader and responsible for leading a group of approximately 20 Operators in all operational activities and driving continuous improvement for their area in the plant. This team leader has sufficient knowledge and experience to resolve complex social and technical problems. The Team Leader takes immediate and appropriate action to correct unsafe conditions, and ensures compliance with safety guidelines, company/department policies and procedures.

The Cleveland-Cliffs New Carlisle Works facility is located in New Carlisle, Indiana, and is a 24/7 operation that produces cold-rolled, hot-dipped galvanized and galvannealed, and electrogalvanized steel coils.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Serves as performance coach and technical advisor to the self-directed operations teams
• Is passionate about safety and is committed to ensuring their team has the required safety training
• Is fully committed to ensuringcomplete compliance with all environmental regulations.
• Facilitates continuous improvement for the operating process and ensures these improvements are institutionalized into the team’s standards and procedures
• Prioritizes, aligns, and coordinates operational tasks cross-functionally to ensure the team achieves operational targets
• Tracks team metrics (i.e., absenteeism, overtime, business plan progress) and develops the appropriate corrective measures as needed
• Works efficiently with union team representatives to coach and counsel team members
• Facilitates team meetings and provides information on topics including safety, environmental, quality, budget, or training and ensures appropriate communication is maintained
• Identifies the need for team development (e.g., training, quality systems, operating techniques) and takes appropriate steps to implement development activities
• Recognizes equipment deficiencies and works to improve reliability through effective communication and coordination with the Equipment Control maintenance teams
• Participates on project teams within the facility or with vendors to solve problems, improve quality, and reduce costs
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Leadership experience in manufacturing
• Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
• Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, advanced Excel skills and Power Point)
• Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in leading a manufacturing operations team
• Experience working in a union environment
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in the steel or metals industry
