Title: Process Maintenance
Location: Park Rapids, MN
Job Description Summary
Position is responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance measures, and operating repair, cutting or welding equipment to complete the job.
Responsibilities
- Work in a safe and orderly manner while on the plant property.
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
- Listen for unusual sounds and view machines and equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related steam and refrigeration, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, mill, grinder, and drills to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of one year experience in a maintenance position.
- Must have own set of hand tools (good quality, list available upon request).
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to maintain level of performance.
- Language skills: read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.
- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
- Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
