Job Title: Process Machine Operator I
FLSA Status (US): Non-Exempt
Department: Operations
Reports To: Production Manager
Summary:

The Process Machine Operator I (Evaporator Operator) is responsible for ensuring that the assigned equipment/machine center is fully operational during their shift. They maintain equipment to minimize downtime, keep a clean and organized work area, accurately complete all quality and production paperwork, and actively participate in equipment operation and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand the production "Sequence of Operation".
  • Monitor and acknowledge machine alarms, managing solutions efficiently.
  • Access machine reports, alarm logs, and system monitoring pages.
  • Diagnose equipment problems from error messages and adjust machines accordingly.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with repairs and preventive tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs.
  • Follow GMPs and safety practices, ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-departmental teams to optimize production.
  • Comply with safety policies, including Lock Out Tag Out and Machine Guarding.
  • Perform quality checks and document results.
  • Follow SOP recipes and participate in team assignments.
  • Identify and address deficiencies, recommending corrective actions.
  • Set up and changeover equipment efficiently.
  • Maintain and lubricate machinery as needed.
  • Explain and demonstrate job tasks to visitors.
  • Wear PPE when required.
  • Obtain forklift and chemical certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist the Line Lead in managing daily functions in the kitchen area.
Qualifications:
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Basic math and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong math and mechanical skills, experience with PC and PLC components, good communication skills.
Travel Requirements:
None.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Primarily standing; ability to lift 25-50 lbs, climb stairs.
