Job summary

Stock Yards in Spokane Valley, WA is seeking a Meat Processor for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm). You will operate CryoVac and related meat production equipment to portion and pack beef and pork to our customer specs.

The role requires standing in a refrigerated environment, adherence to GMP, and the ability to complete end-of-day tasks. Starting pay is $25.50 per hour, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with CryoVac, MultiVac, Dicers, Needle, Slicer, Portion Cutter or similar meat production equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA grades and standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CryoVac, MultiVac, Dicers, Needle, Slicer, and Portion Cutter to portion and pack meat per specifications.
• Count and stack portions on trays according to customer and company specs.
• Label portions with product labels and set up packing and labeling area as required.
• Perform end-of-day functions and maintain the packing area clean and sanitized.
• Follow GMP to maintain sanitary conditions and assist with other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operation of Meat Processing Equipment; CryoVac, MultiVacs, Dicers, Needle, Slicer, Portion Cutters, Scales, Pack, trim and customize portions of meat products using knives, or other meat production equipment.
• Count and stack on tray portions per customer and company specifications.
• Label portion with supplied number product labels.
• Set up packing and labeling area as required.
• Perform end of day functions.
• Actively maintain, and merchandise partial cart.
• Keep packing area and cutting room and surrounding area clean and sanitized.
• Follow company GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Perform end of day functions.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

SUPERVISION

The incumbent is not required to provide direct supervision for any position.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: The incumbent is required to interact with employees at all levels of responsibility throughout the company.

External: The incumbent may be required to perform demonstration cuts or packing for tours, and sales team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work continually in a refrigerated environment 35°F- 45°F. Incumbent must have the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Finish time is when work is completed and could require overtime with or without notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with CryoVac, MultiVac, Dicers, Needle, Slicer,Portion Cutter, laser portion machinery or other meat production equipment is preferred.

COMPENSATION

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).

The expected base rate for this role is between $25.50 - $27.20
