About the Opportunity

A leading EPCM company is seeking an experienced Process Lead / Gold Processing Expert to play a key leadership role on a major $4B gold mining project. This is a rare opportunity to join a world-class project team responsible for delivering one of the industry’s most significant gold developments.

The successful candidate will act as the technical authority for gold process engineering, leading the design, optimisation, and execution of mineral processing solutions across study phases through to project delivery. This position requires deep technical expertise in gold processing, strong leadership capability, and proven EPCM project experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of process engineering design for a large-scale gold processing facility through scoping, PFS, FS, detailed engineering, and execution phases.
  • Serve as the technical SME for gold processing, including crushing, grinding, flotation, gravity recovery, leaching, CIL/CIP, elution, detoxification, tailings, and water management systems.
  • Manage and coordinate process engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, process simulations, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.
  • Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and project controls.
  • Provide technical leadership during HAZOPs, risk reviews, operability studies, and process optimisation initiatives.
  • Engage with clients, operations teams, and vendors to ensure practical, operable, and cost-effective process solutions are implemented.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and ramp-up activities to achieve operational performance targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement, safety, sustainability, and best practices in mineral processing and project execution.
  • Mentor and lead a team of process engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, Mineral Processing, or Process Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in mineral processing, with significant expertise in gold processing plants.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a leading EPCM environment on large-scale mining projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge across gold recovery circuits including CIL/CIP, heap leach, gravity recovery, and associated plant infrastructure.
  • Experience across project lifecycle stages including feasibility studies, detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability with the ability to influence senior project teams and clients.
  • Prior experience on major capital mining projects ($1B+) highly preferred.
  • Site-based operational exposure and practical plant troubleshooting experience is highly advantageous.
