Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Process Inspector to join our engine center team. You will inspect parts from vendors and those returned from service for admissibility, ensuring adherence to drawings and manuals.

The role involves working across multiple shop levels and engine lines, contributing to the overall quality of our engines. You will operate primarily on the 5th shift (Friday to Sunday, 5pm–5am).

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and 3+ years’ aircraft maintenance and/or quality inspection experience.
• Able to pass vision screening.

What You Will Do:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Bridgeport, WV as a Process Inspector. In this role, you will be involved in multiple levels of our engine center. You will inspect parts delivered by vendors as well as inspect parts after being worked on for serviceability. The person in this role will be someone with a keen eye for detail who is able to manage multiple competing priorities. You will work across multiple levels of the shop floor and across all of our engine lines. You will be a key contributor to the success and quality of our engines.

This position is intended to work on our 5th shift, which is Friday-Sunday from 5pm-5am. Training may take place on a different shift for up to 6 months before moving to the 5th shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide variety of inspection duties relating to overhaul and repair of gas turbine engine components, such as inspection, repair and test operation required to ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, overhaul manuals, maintenance manuals, Service Bulletins and other P&WC/PWES documentation.
• Perform random visual and dimensional component inspection.
• Utilize various inspection methods and indication approval of proper procedure on applicable paperwork.
• A working knowledge of repair line operations and capabilities.
• Return components to service per applicable FAA, FAR’s, Foreign NAA, and P&WC/PWES requirements.
• Supplement and initiate Detail Inspection Records and CS orders as required during the component repair and inspection process.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent and 3+ years’ experience in Aircraft Maintenance and/or Quality Inspection
• Able to pass vision screening

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Powerplant License highly preferred
• Previous experience in Inspection, Assembly & Test or repair processes for gas turbine engine components.
• Experience in the use of precision measuring instruments required for inspection and repair of gas turbine engine components.
• Experience interpreting drawings, layouts and specifications as they relate to repair, test and inspection of gas turbine engine components.
• Previous experience in Engine component repair line processes for PT6, JT15D, PW300, PW500, & PW800 engine components.
• Technical training in the areas of inspection or repair processes

This role is:

• Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
