Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer

Reports to: Process Improvement Manager

Purpose: Identify and implement manufacturing opportunities including productivity, capacity, and cost improvements through lean and continuous improvement methodologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-pilot the Griffith Production System (GPS) program implementation with Plant Management Team and ensure the health and progress of the program through workshop facilitation, coaching, and assessments.
  • Identify site losses and understand their linkage to costs; set up a manufacturing database for productivity, efficiency, capacity, quality, and safety metrics. Work with the site team to eliminate losses via GPS/Lean activities.
  • Lead and implement improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies to enhance productivity, capacity, and quality.
  • Define and develop critical capabilities for the site with a 6-18 month outlook, coaching the team in daily problem-solving, autonomous maintenance, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Engage and coach plant management, pillar teams, and frontline associates in continuous improvement activities to foster a culture of lean and GPS involvement.
  • Facilitate plant GPE management to achieve business targets, identify opportunities, and manage progress and reporting.
  • Lead or co-pilot digital transformation projects, providing coaching and training for frontline engagement.
  • Participate early in project design phases to embed lean design thinking for future expansion and capital projects.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Preferred: food industry experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement or Lean production management preferred.
  • Experience with Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, JIT, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, 5S, waste elimination, Visual Management, TPM, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma, problem solving, and RCA.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse groups across all levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • No relocation assistance or work visa support provided.
