Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Process Generalist to support and enable onsite process operations, ensuring production goals and standards are met. The role requires lifting up to 60 lbs, flexibility for weekends/overtime, and driving Lean principles across teams.

The incumbent will collaborate with planning, forecasting, and operations to align production efforts, mentor junior technicians, and maintain high safety and quality levels on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in manufacturing operations, technical support, or safety.
• Valid Driver’s license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR).
• Ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs (a bag of seed).
• Ability to work weekends and overtime during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Set and maintain quality and production standards, and function as the conduit for all feedback, compliance, production schedule, and adjustment from support teams to the sites and back out to external partners.
• Support the safe and timely delivery of quality supply based on production schedules while maintaining an efficient operation.
• Perform duties in a manner that support overall site Key Metrics to include Safety, Quality, TIP, TOP, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain a strong relationship with the onsite unit and squads.
• Function as a conduit with other sites and off-site support personnel to anticipate and resolve production challenges.
• Adapt quickly to changes in business, courageously face new challenges and opportunities.
• Ensure the highest level of quality, compliance, and safety achieved in all activities.
• Provide timely technical support where needed to ensure the best customer experience possible.
• Mentor less experienced production technicians and coach employees across the site on basic operations and quality standards.
• Support areas by championing Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Initiate periodic communication with Planning, Forecasting, and Operations to ensure alignment across all production teams.
• Support the development and sharing of all relevant KPIs and other relevant information on visual boards and networks to drive teamwork and ensure the highest level of product quality.

Education

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Process Generalist supports and enables all onsite process operations using inputs from internal and external resources to ensure the site personnelhave a clear understanding of the production goals, materials, standards, objectives required to meet the needs of upstream and downstream customers.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Process Generalist, are to:

• Set and maintain quality and production standards, and function as the conduit for all feedback, compliance, production schedule, and adjustmentfrom support teams to the sites and back out to external partners;
• Support the safe and timely delivery of quality supply based on production schedules while maintaining an efficient operation;
• Perform duties in a manner that support overall site Key Metrics to include Safety, Quality, TIP (total individual volume performance), TOP (total overall volume performance), and cost efficiency;
• Maintain a strong relationship with theonsite unit and squads;
• Function as a conduit withother sites and off-site support personnel to anticipate and resolve production challenges;
• Adapt quickly to changes in business, courageously face new challenges and opportunities;
• Ensure the highest level of quality, compliance, and safety achieved in all activities;
• Provide timely technical support where needed to ensure the best customer experience possible;
• Mentor less experienced production technicians and coach employees across the site onbasic operations and quality standards;
• Support areas by championing Lean Manufacturing principles;
• Initiate periodic communication with Planning, Forecasting, and Operations to ensure alignment across all production teams;
• Support the development and sharing of all relevant Key Performance Indicators and other relevant information on visual boards and networks to driveteamwork and ensure the highest level of product quality to enhance Customer Experience;
• Drive a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED;
• Prior experienceinmanufacturingoperations, technical support, or safety;
• Valid Driver’s license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening);
• Ability to follow policies and procedures;
• Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed);

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a preferred discipline:Business,Engineering, Agriculture, SupplyChain,Manufacturing with 4 years of relevantexperience; OR
• High School Diploma and 7years ofexperienceinmanufacturingoperations, technical support, or safety;
• Experience in lean manufacturing systems;
• Demonstration of courage, candor, and initiative in past assignments;
• Knowledge in seed production and seed quality standards.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $83,280.00 to $124,920.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
