Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at the Belcamp, MD facility. You will support continuous improvement projects, optimize processes, and contribute to safer, more efficient operations on the manufacturing floor.

The role requires progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, with strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation to the facility.

Responsibilities

• Support process improvement and operational excellence initiatives across manufacturing areas to enhance safety, quality, reliability and efficiency.
• Assist with engineering projects from concept through implementation, including data collection, analysis, testing and documentation.
• Update and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, batch records, equipment information, and process workflows.
• Participate in plant continuous improvement programs (5S, visual management, root cause analysis, standardization).
• Assist with operator training and deployment of new processes on the manufacturing floor.
