Job summary

Saint-Gobain Middleburg Heights, OH is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor. You will work with the operations team to drive efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and quality improvements, while developing your leadership, analytical, and project-management skills.

The role involves tooling design with SolidWorks, process capability analyses, and creating/updating SOPs and work instructions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the operations team on continuous improvement initiatives including efficiency improvements, ergonomics, safety, and quality.
• Design tooling and fixturing using Solidworks
• Conduct Process Capability analysis and work with experienced engineers to recommend process changes
• Develop and update SOPs, work instructions and other documentation
• Work with employees on the production floor to improve the overall manufacturing processes by implementing engineered solutions.
• Provide support for production, quality, product development and other departments as required
• Assist team with identification of areas for improvement and suggests solutions

• Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office software package.

Preferred but Not Required Skills

• Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma.
• Experience with 2D/3D modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
