Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a driven and analytical Process Engineer to support and improve Tile Cutting manufacturing operations. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment with mentorship from experienced engineering and manufacturing leaders.

The candidate will work with maintenance, quality, technical, and operations teams to improve safety, efficiency, reliability, and product quality, while driving process optimization and capital projects on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level engineering degree required.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or willingness to complete Green Belt/Black Belt training.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and support Safety, TPM, Lean Six Sigma and environmental efforts.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and operations teams across shifts.
  • Lead planning, data collection and analysis for development trials and new product development.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and operations teams to drive improvements.
  • Develop maintenance instructions and optimize equipment settings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, safety and cost.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate progress and results of development efforts to leadership.

Shaw Industries is seeking a driven and analytical Process Engineer to support and improve our Tile Cutting manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career or developing engineer to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while building strong technical, operational, and leadership skills.

In this role, you'll work alongside maintenance, quality, technical, and operations teams to improve safety, efficiency, reliability, and product quality. Required Responsibilities:
  • Understand and Support all SAFE, SMS, TPM, Lean Six Sigma, and Environmental efforts.
  • Work with 10-12 Maintenance Techs and 3 Quality B-levels over 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift and assist in setting priorities for mechanical/electrical work.
  • Lead the planning, set up, data collection, and data analysis with all technical development trials and new product development in their area.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Develop maintenance instructions and optimize and develop equipment settings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, safety, and cost.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion-control systems.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Be able to effectively communicate the reasons for the progress of and results from these development efforts.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement in efficiency, safety, quality, cost, and environmental aspects in their area.
  • Manage Critical Parts Lists for Machinery. Order Special Parts.
  • Manage capital projects to ensure completion in a timely manner.
  • Fill in for the Department Manager as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4 year engineering degree
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or willing to complete Green Belt and Black Belt Training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Optimize and improve motors, sensors, actuators, PLCs, controllers, and other automation components
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, motors, and control systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs, industrial automation, robotics, or embedded systems
