Job summary

Dyno Nobel in Simsbury, CT is seeking a Process Engineer to lead continuous improvement across site operations, driving safety and efficiency.

You will establish baselines, implement standard work and line balancing, remove bottlenecks, and use data to drive OEE gains. Collaborating with maintenance and operations, you’ll introduce new ideas and ensure compliance with HSE standards while delivering tangible business results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows; experience with SAP and Minitab preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement across site operations.

  • Ensure compliance with HSE performance standards and regulations.
  • Increase site productivity via standard work, line balancing, and bottleneck removal.
  • Establish baselines, develop measures/targets, and improve OEE.
  • Identify and implement waste reduction and quality improvement strategies.
  • Use time studies and analyses to identify improvements in flows and layouts.
  • Lead improvements with controls to sustain results.
  • Collect and analyze data to drive implementation of opportunities.
  • Provide reliable data to support solutions that drive business results.
  • Introduce new ideas and technologies and act as a change agent for adoption.

Overview

Responsible for working with site leaders to identify and implement continuous improvement in all areas of site operations.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations.
  • Increase site productivity by implementing standard work, line balancing, and removing bottlenecks, in collaboration with the site management team.
  • Establish baseline, develop measures/targets, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Align with the Business Excellence framework and identify/implement strategies to reduce waste and improve quality, directly impacting site costs.
  • Use technical know-how for time studies, material/machine/information flows, layouts, and other analyses to identify improvements.
  • Lead and/or implement improvements with controls in place to sustain results.
  • Collect and analyze data, make recommendations, and drive implementation of opportunities.
  • Gather and analyze manufacturing information to provide reliable data to implement solutions that drive business results.
  • Introduce innovative ideas and technologies and act as a change agent to effectively implement and sustain them.
  • Ensure and/or support compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards and relevant acts/regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows; experience with SAP and Minitab preferred.
  • Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience is helpful.
  • Ability to independently identify process problems/opportunities, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with maintenance teams and outside contractors.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
