Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer Technician on the 2nd shift in Wheeling, IL. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting of equipment and processes, supporting engineers, and ensuring quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work directly with production personnel to resolve technical issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across various levels of the organization.
• Preference for 2+ years in a manufacturing or process technician role, ideally in metal forming or similar environments.
• Prefer basic understanding of metallurgy, mechanical properties, and manufacturing automation.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Associate degree or technical certification, engineering technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on support to production teams by troubleshooting equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and ensure consistent product quality.
• Assist Process Engineers in implementing and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives, documenting findings and supporting workshop activities.
• Monitor and maintain tooling performance, identify wear patterns, and assist in corrective actions to extend tool life and reduce costs.
• Support development and maintenance of SOPs by contributing technical insights from frontline experience.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute manufacturing projects, ensuring standards and timelines are met.
• Promote and uphold safety and environmental compliance in daily operations.
• Assist in installation, calibration, and validation of production equipment and process controls to improve reliability and productivity.
• Provide input on equipment upgrades and purchases based on practical experience and needs.

Wieland is hiring a Process Engineer Technician. The Process Engineer Technician will be responsible for providing frontline troubleshooting for equipment and tooling issues. This role involves hands‑on technical support, assisting in the implementation of new processes and contributing improvement efforts. The technician will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and adherenceto safety standards. This role is located in Wheeling, ILand will be fully on‑site.

Hourly Pay Range:$29.45-$31.17

Work Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm

Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly
