Job summary

Wolfspeed’s Global Operations team is seeking a Process Engineer to drive manufacturing initiatives at the Durham, NC campus. You will partner with Equipment and Process Engineering to own grinding and surface finishing of SiC wafers and push continuous improvements across platforms.

The role emphasizes solving daily priorities, leading safety, quality, and throughput projects, and maintaining equipment and processes with strong communication and project-management skills.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering with Process Engineering, internship, Co-op, or industry experience
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule to support critical tool issues in a manufacturing environment
  • Equipment and process troubleshooting skills with ability to learn new processes and toolsets
  • Identify process improvements, manage change, and implement solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, professional, energetic, can-do attitude
  • Understanding and experience with Statistical Process Control
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions

Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations team to resolve daily priorities as needed to support manufacturing
  • Drive project initiatives forward in support of process safety, quality, throughput, and low cost
  • Own the Grinding and Surface Finishing processes of Silicon Carbide (SiC) wafers
  • Continuous improvement across many new and existing platforms and processes
  • Monitor and respond to all OOC conditions on multiple product lines and toolsets
  • Optimize preventative maintenance procedures
  • Document best known methods across areas of ownership
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documents and procedures as necessary
  • Facilitate and oversee the install of new manufacturing equipment
  • Maintain schedule to meet overall qualifications and project goals
  • Sustaining support, troubleshooting, equipment acceptance and resolving technical issues that may arise in day to day manufacturing

Here’s the Gist:

Wolfspeed's Global Operations team is seeking a Process Engineer with a proven track record of successful execution in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position will work directly with the Equipment and Process Engineering teams in our Silicon Carbide (SiC) Global Operations manufacturing team located at the Corporate Headquarters in Durham, NC.

The Day-to-Day:
  • Work with Operations team to resolve daily priorities as needed to support manufacturing
  • Drive project initiatives forward in support of process safety, quality, throughput, and low cost
  • Own the Grinding and Surface Finishing processes of Silicon Carbide (SiC) wafers
  • Continuous improvement across many new and existing platforms and processes

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
