Job summary

AllSTEM Connections is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations involving advanced surface treatment, coating, heat treatment, and metallurgical processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with production, R&D, quality, and applications engineering teams to develop and document processes.

The role focuses on designing fixtures, troubleshooting equipment, and creating SOPs while ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3–5 years of engineering experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical reports.
• Working knowledge of vacuum furnace equipment and controls.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn and support advanced surface treatment and coating processes, including PVD, magnetron sputtering, cathodic arc processes, nitriding, thermal diffusion, and heat treatment.
• Review incoming customer jobs and develop appropriate process instructions for production.
• Work directly with production personnel to ensure proper setup and processing of customer components.
• Design and develop fixtures, tooling, and masking solutions for production applications.
• Collaborate with R&D to develop new processes and successfully transition them into production.
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
• Review manufacturing nonconformances and work with engineering and quality teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and assist in verifying proper equipment operation.
• Read, interpret, and create engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Support quality initiatives and maintain compliance with applicable AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP requirements.
• Work with applications engineering to evaluate the technical feasibility of new customer projects.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable quality standards.
• Perform additional engineering projects and assignments as required.
