Voya Energy, Inc. in Hayward, CA seeks scientists and engineers to develop and scale the cell chemistry for a metal-fueled generator. You will help set the scientific direction and work across chemistry, materials, and process teams.
The role emphasizes crystallization, separation, and electrolyte optimization for continuous processing, with bench-to-pilot development in a fast-paced startup. Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits offered.
Voya Energy is commercializing a closed-loop electrochemical metal fuel and generator that outperforms diesel in energy density, cost, and stability. At the core of this innovation is Voya’s proprietary low-corrosion electrolyte and system architecture, which deliver higher power density and allow the use of lower-purity feedstock. Leveraging this advantage, Voya is also developing a low-cost electrochemical process for producing the fuel at scale.
Together, these technologies position Voya to redefine how clean energy is stored, transported, and delivered globally. The company is backed by leading venture investors, including Energy Impact Partners and Founders Fund, and led by a founding team of industry veterans (Richard Wang, CEO; Matt Horton, CCO; Steven Kaye, CTO) with deep expertise in electrochemistry, batteries, and mobility.
As one of the first members of the Voya team, you will have a key role in the development of the company. We’re looking for scientists and engineers who are passionate about research, innovation, and entrepreneurship to help develop and scale the cell chemistry for Voya’s metal-fueled generator. The successful candidate will take a leading role in setting the scientific direction of the company.
Hayward, CA. Full-time on-site.
