Job description

LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. (LGCTA) is seeking a Powder Process Engineer to join our Powder Solutions team. The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager and work alongside our team to stabilize powder flowability issues and improve process loss.

The Powder Process Engineer will be responsible for managing the bag filter efficiency and issues for our new cathode material manufacturing plant in Clarksville, Tennessee. This role will serve as a powder process expert, establishing standards and regulations, training and distributing standards to workers, and working with related departments on day-to-day issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect process equipment conditions and installation parameters related to flowability parameters and bag filter during the new installation phase.
  • Coordinate the schedule of Design of Experiments (DOE) with related departments and establish new standards for new equipment.
  • Monitor batch-by-batch trends and process parameters related to flowability process and bag filter during DOE and mass production phases.
  • Analyze product and monitor flowability properties related to product issues, maintaining company and customer guidelines for quality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of stable work history and 3 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or a technical field.
  • Able to work multiple shifts, including weekends, and participate in on-call rotation during DOE period.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of PLC control system, load cell calibration, and bag filter & dust collecting system.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and excellent analytical ability to effectively analyze production data.
