LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. in Clarksville, TN, is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to join our team full-time. You will focus on process quality assurance for the mass production line and help set up the analysis laboratory, reporting to the Quality Manager.

You will monitor production line quality, perform root-cause analysis, drive containment actions, review engineering changes, and generate quality reports while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing/operations engineering or a technical field.
  • Experience in quality control/assurance within high-volume manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the quality performance of production lines, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained during production.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, potential risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage containment actions and escalation processes for critical quality issues affecting production or customers.
  • Review and approve engineering changes, process modifications, and new product introductions from a quality perspective.
  • Prepare and present quality reports for internal stakeholders.

(LGCTA) is actively searching for a Quality Control Engineer to join our team in Clarksville, TN. The Quality Control Engineer will be an individual contributor reporting to the Quality Manager. The Quality Control engineer will handle PQA (Process Quality Assurance for the mass production line) tasks.The primary responsibilities for the QC Engineer will focus on quality management of the mass production line and setting up the analysis laboratory.This position is based full time in Clarksville, TN and is not a remote role.What You’ll Be DoingEssential Functions (include but are not limited to):Quality Management for Production Lines :Monitor and manage the quality performance of production lines, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained during production.Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, potential risks, and improvement opportunities.Manage containment actions and escalation processes for critical quality issues affecting production or customers.Review and approve engineering changes, process modifications, and new product introductions from a quality perspective.Data Analysis and Reporting :Analyze quality-related data and generate actionable insights to improve process efficiency.Prepare and present quality reports for internal stakeholders.Cross-functional Collaboration :Support the Quality and Engineering teams during process improvements and troubleshooting activities.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking ForCompetencies/Desired Skills:Quality Focus: Ensure that all work throughout the organization, by operators and technicians is performed with excellence and to high standards for quality and integrity.Engineering Review, Decision Making& Analysis: Knowledge of and ability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions and/or reaching conclusions. Ability to make decisions and take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences. Identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternate solutions.Quality Technical Knowledge: – Understand quality theories that encapsulate the objective analysis of facts to form a judgment; ability and understanding of quality theories to approach several different quality assurance and controls processes holistically.Document Control: Maintain a systematic approach for managing documents, keep up with industry standards and practices, as well as any new regulations or guidelines that could affect our product.Training: Knowledge on how to train production personnel on new processes and/or new equipment procedures that may be necessary.Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.Requirements:Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing/operations engineering, or a technical field preferably in powder, chemical, glass, refinery, plastics, food, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, automotive or batteries.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Able to work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours and Participate in on-call rotationAble to respond off hours and weekends to troubleshoot plant issues.Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 40 lbs.;Exposure to heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards;Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other garments as needed. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, Masks, full body gowns, hair nets, gloves and hearing protection.Preferred Qualification/What We’d Like to See:(Highly Preferred) Proven experience in quality control and quality assurance within high-volume manufacturing environments.(Highly Preferred) Strong problem-solving capability with hands-on experience in 8D, 5Why, and root cause analysis methodologies.(Highly Preferred) Ability to lead cross-functional teams in resolving production quality issues and driving corrective actions.(Preferred) Experience in statistical quality management and process capability analysis (SPC, Cpk/Ppk).(Preferred) Experience managing quality risks associated with 4M changes (Man, Machine, Material, Method).(Preferred) Knowledge of Quality Core Tools, including APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, and PPAP.(Preferred) Strong data analysis and reporting skills using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab(Preferred) Experience in customer quality issue management, including complaint handling, containment actions, and corrective action verification.(Preferred) Experience with laboratory testing equipment and analytical instruments used for manufacturing quality control.
