Job summary

Bixby International is hiring a Process Engineer in Newburyport, MA to evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes for cost reduction and sustainability. The role focuses on configuring production systems, documenting standards, and training staff across multiple extrusion lines.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or polymer science and 5+ years of plastics processing experience, with ISO 9000/TQM exposure and supervisory history being a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or polymer science.
  • 5+ years of plastics processing manufacturing experience.
  • Extrusion background: sheet extrusion and laminating.
  • Experience with a TQM and ISO 9000 environment.
  • Line supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Document processes by product to ensure predictability and repeatability.
  • Perform continuous improvement analysis of equipment and processes.
  • Develop plans and documentation for upcoming production and trial runs.
  • Maintain standards documentation including running conditions and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Train personnel on new and existing procedures.
  • Support equipment upgrades and capital expenditure decisions.
  • Assist in coordinating weekly production plans and trials.
  • Participate in quality issues and customer complaints as required.
